About Me

Philosophy & Experience

My instructional design philosophy incorporates best practices in adult learning such as real-world scenario-based examples, short chunks of on-demand learning, and practical exercises. Adult learners need to know "how will this affect my work" and need to feel like they can put what they've learned into action right away.

I employ needs assessment, stakeholder analysis, and objective setting to help make design choices and determine the right mode of delivery. Then I apply data-based decision making, and modern technology in order to build the right curriculum for the target audience.

I'm experienced with all aspects of eLearning design, including:

Instructional Design

Courseware Development

Authoring tools that I regularly use are Articulate Storyline and Rise, Camtasia, Pendo, Canva, and Adobe Audition. However, I am always interested in learning how to use new tools and assess whether and how they could improve my work.

I keep up-to-date with what other Instructional Design leaders and practitioners are doing and talking about, so that I am continuously honing my craft. I also like to learn new skills and gain practice by regularly taking part in practical exercises like the Articulate E-Learning Heroes Challenges.
