About Me

Philosophy & Experience

My instructional design philosophy is rooted in proven adult learning principles, emphasizing real-world, scenario-based examples, bite-sized on-demand learning, and hands-on practical exercises. Adult learners are most engaged when they see the direct impact on their work and can immediately apply new knowledge. By creating learning experiences that are relevant and actionable, I ensure strong buy-in and meaningful engagement.

I conduct thorough needs assessments, stakeholder analyses, and objective setting to inform design decisions and identify the most effective delivery methods. Using data-driven insights and modern technology, I create customized curricula that truly fit the needs of the audience.

Collaboration and communication with subject matter experts (SMEs) are among my key strengths. I know how to ask the right questions, pull out key insights, and keep SMEs engaged from start to finish. By securing their commitments for reviews and approvals, I help drive projects to successful completion.

I'm experienced with all aspects of Instructional Design and Coursware Development, including:

Authoring tools that I regularly use are Articulate Storyline and Rise, Camtasia, Pendo, Canva, and Adobe Audition. However, I am always interested in learning how to use new tools and assess whether and how they could improve my work.

I keep up-to-date with what other Instructional Design leaders and practitioners are doing and talking about, so that I am continuously honing my craft. I also like to learn new skills and gain practice by regularly taking part in practical exercises like the Articulate E-Learning Heroes Challenges.
